About the Role: The Mechanic Helper plays a crucial supporting role within the mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction industries by assisting skilled mechanics in maintaining, repairing, and servicing heavy machinery and equipment. Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in outdoor environments.
- Willingness to adhere to strict safety standards and protocols.
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience in a mechanical or industrial support role, preferably within mining, quarrying, or oil and gas sectors.
- Basic certification in mechanical maintenance or related technical training.
- Familiarity with heavy machinery used in extraction industries.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate site vehicles or equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities: - Assist mechanics in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment and machinery used in mining and extraction operations.
- Prepare and organize tools, parts, and materials needed for mechanical repairs and routine maintenance tasks.
- Clean and maintain equipment, work areas, and tools to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Support the documentation of maintenance activities, including logging repairs and parts usage.
- Transport equipment and materials to and from work sites as directed by senior mechanics.
- Learn and apply basic mechanical skills under supervision to progressively take on more complex tasks.
